Hey all, I am looking for some tips or direction for my dietary situation. I don't much self control when it comes to sweets, carbs, and cheesy type foods. I have a problem with my portion sizes and they are quite large. I sort of in a dorm type situation, so I don't get much home cooked meals. Most of the food that's served are carbs or diary type foods. I also live on a small budget. I've tried many diets and so far not many have sticked. So I am really interested in finding something that will help me change my lifestyle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@RicaNar the easiest thing I can think of is to go to Walmart, Target, or Bed Bath & Beyond and pick up a food scale. Use this to accurately measure your food so you make sure you are eating appropriate servings. The biggest eye opener for me was when I first started weighing my portions, what I thought was 1 serving turned out to be more like 2 or 3. It takes some time for you to get used to correct portion sizes but after a while it becomes second nature.
Also living in a dorm walking should be easy for you - to/from class, around campus, etc. I would suggest walking as much as possible instead of driving.
