Living Well: what does a healthy lifestyle mean to you?

My family history is riddle with chronic conditions and disease. On both sides, we die young so a when I was a young person, being active and healthy mattered because I didn't want to suffer like I witnessed my family members. In fact, most of  my first cousins all are committed to living well. Many of us are exercisers or we have adopted different dietary habits over the years, many of us use alternative health remedies and practices.

In my house, we are mostly veg-eaters. We are fanatics but you won't find much junk food (what we eat we buy and consume in the moment). We shop the outer aisles at the market. We eat mostly fresh or frozen is our alternative. We are walkers. We read and keep up on ways to improve and maintain our health. I practice yoga and recently took up boxing.

I also opted to take the minimalist path this past spring, too. Living simply appeals to me for a variety of reasons.

What about you? What does your committed to your health and well-being look like?

Food, exercise, sleep, low-stress

I'm vegan, and my diet is close to the McDougall Diet.

I walk about 10 miles a day including about 2 miles around the house.

I get enough sleep. For me, about 7 hours a night seems to work well. If I need one I take a nap.

I've designed my life to be low-stress. I work from home and don't buy too many things.
