Looking for Fitbit friends to keep me motivated

Hello,

I live in Prescott, AZ and I am looking to add Fitbit friends to keep me motivated. Most of my friends don't have for bit so it's hard to stay motivated and I am ready to do some challenges 😏

Hey, gratz on getting fit! I'm in MA, new to the bit as well. I'm in pretty rough shape, so I don't know if I can challenge you. What are your personal goals? Where are you by way of activity, diet, soda consumption, etc? I figure if you get that info out, you'll find someone in your range to be bitbuddies withWoman Happy

Ah, you'll convert them soon enough! 4 of my friends now wear Fitbits compared to a year ago when none of us had one. We all need motivation, and congrats on your first leap into the 10,000 step program where we encourage walking addiction. Smiley Wink

Edit: I know where you live it gets to be about the temperature that aluminum boils, but we have a couple of "special" groups that do 5ks or other things that pertain to your walk of life. One of the biggest motivators I have found is signing up for a 5k or something similar a few months in advance. That way you don't really have time to hardcore fall off the wagon, and since you've already committed to do it (and more than likely paid to do it) you're more likely to keep it up. I've always been wicked self conscious about getting in front of the super-fit running-gods that I always thought go to things like that, but 1) there are people from every stage, and 2) the desire not to be embarrassed or completely defeated works as a huge motivator.  And if you don't already have it, consider getting the Fitbit app so you can do challenges (workweek, weekend, daily, etc) with others. Being on the losing end drives me nuts, so I'll pace around the bed and walk in place in the kitchen so I'm not too far behind! Never before did I think "man, I really should walk up that extra flight of stairs." Good luck!

Hi!  Are you still using your Fitbit?  I see your post is over a year old, but I searched for Prescott, AZ and found this post.  I just got my Fitbit this year and have had fun doing lots more walking.  Anyway, just thought I'd check in with you to see if you'd be interested in challenges still. 🙂
