Losing Weight and Tightening up Skin

 

I've lost twenty pounds over tha past 9-10 months by walking every day and watching what I eat. What's the best way to tighten up the stomach skin?

There are a few tips to follow:

- Stay hydrated, as it is important in maintaining skin elasticity.  Your net intake should be at least 2L of water per day.  Coconut water has the added benefit of providing essential nutrients as well as hydrating you.

- Don't lose weight too fast.  Try to keep it at a max of 2lbs a week, giving your skin time to recover.

- If you want to try for a skin tightening cream, look for products containing vitamin A, vitamin E, and collegen, all of which help tighten the skin.  Aloe is said to work well, too.

- Avoid harsh soaps.  Skin care products that contain sodium laurel sulfate and related chemicals can actually damage your skin by drying it out. When you're trying to tighten your skin, avoid industrial-strength cleansers and choose light, natural products to wash yourself.

  • Cleansers made with oils are the best bet for tightening skin.
  • Consider foregoing soap altogether. Running a washcloth lightly over your skin may be all it really needs, especially if you're also exfoliating and treating it with oil or lotion.
