WONDERING ABOUT THIS:

Take your ideal weight and add a zero, and that amount is your calorie allotment for the day.  For example, if you weigh (or want to weigh) 120 pounds, you have 1,200 calories to spend per day to reach and maintain your ideal weight.  You earn an extra 100 calories for every 15 minutes of exercise..

This sounds so easy to me that I wonder if it would really work.....

Would like some input on this..

Thanks Dreamer

Not particularly healthy.  I need to be below 183.  Ideally 160-170 or so.  As a 6 foot tall male I should never eat fewer than 1800 calories in a day or risk muscle loss.

If a woman wanted to get down to 105, that would also not be good.  1200-1300 calories is the minimum a woman should generally eat.

So no, not a good idea.

Also if some weights 300 lbs, but needed to be 150.  1500 calories would not be enough.  The person would be extremely hungry, and probably running a 2000 calorie deficit, which is is extremely unhealthy.

Even if I was fit, and 173, 1730 calories would be too low.

So I can't think of a any reason to try this.

This could be dangerous though. If there is someone who is seriously overweight, like in the 300s, and their goal weight is 150... if they only ate 1500 calories a day they would be starving themselves.
