Motorcycle Ride Affecting Charge 3

I rode my motorcycle for 180 miles two days ago. I discovered when I arrived home that my Charge3 figured I'd walked 13,000+ steps. I guess I'll have to take it off when riding. I did do some walking when I arrived at my destination, but not 13,000 steps!😜

Wow, that seems odd. I would think it would rather have logged a bike ride. I went for a walk pushing a stroller one day and discovered that my Fitbit logged it as a bike ride. I wondered, how in the world? Then I realized the placement of my hands on the stroller meant I was moving without swinging my arms, so I figured that was it. 😂

It is the vibration- that is what's giving you the extra steps. I would put it in your pocket for the ride. It may still capture a few, but for sure not 13K

I will try that tomorrow for 30 miles or so. I now think the position of my handlebars at the top of the front suspension puts the Charge3 in perfect place for up and down motion-sensing. Someplace remote from that location (like front jacket pocket) will probably eliminate the issue.

Counts steps for my brother using Charge 3, and my husband using a versa whenever they ride, as well.

This happens to me too, as I ride a scooter daily.  The weirdest variation of this happening to me though was when Fitbit logged a ride as excercise but what I had actually done was mowed the lawn.  And it wasn't a ride on mower!
