Hi! I have been working to lose weight and get back into excellent shape and I find the 3 workouts I do a week aren't cutting it. I have done few Tabata classes in the past and without question I feel the intensity of them and felt immediate results. My main thing is being able to do a quick couple rounds OUTSIDE the gym for when I can't make it in, so I need excercises that don't need equipment. I also want a timer that also logs my workouts AND motion information from my Charge HR integratively so I can track progress like how many reps I can actualy do in an interview and so forth. Finally, I would like an app that will also remind me of all the key form points so I do the excercise efffectively and safely. Does such an animal exist? I looked at what was avaialble in the App Stroe and I couldn't find anything that fit those requirements. If you have something that does, please share! I need to "fill in the gaps" so that I am create a bigger one between my gut and my belt line!

For a starter, see my post on Fitbit not being "HIIT-friendly" from earlier this year.
My advice would be to use an app that supports interval training and voice coaching (the Fitbit app doesn’t support either). I’ve been using Runtastic Pro for that, and it works fine, but I’m sure most other running apps do this as well.
I wouldn’t worry about integration (or lack thereof) into Fitbit. By simply wearing your Fitbit, your activity will be tracked. If you feel you are not getting full credit for the intensity of the activity (in terms of calories burned), you can always log it manually. Anyway, the main purpose of HIIT is not to burn the maximum amount of calories in absolute terms and since it’s rather short by nature, any discrepancy in calories burned won’t have a major impact on the total expenditure for the day.
