Hello,
This might be a bit off topic for this forum but I desperately need a bit of encouragement today. After about a month of meeting my step goal each day and feeling right on track with everything I have hit a wall today.
A little explanation of why this is: 10 months ago I had a baby and that has been absolutely awesome! But today it has been a rough day. At a meeting to discuss my return to work after my maternity leave instead of the discussion I was expecting (that I would be returning to my job in just over a month) I was let go. I have worked for this company for 4 years, through thick and thin, and now feel like the floor has just been dropped out from beneath my feet... All through my mat leave I have kept in touch with the company and let them know I was intending to return to work and they always seemed excited to have me back so that makes me even more confused.
Sorry - this is probably not the place to discuss this but I just need a bit of encouragement to get back on track. I want to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and this emotional upheaval just might derail me...
Thanks in advance for any encouragement.

First off Congrats on the new addtion to your family!
2nd Where do you live? Typically its illegal to let someone go upon their return from Maternity leave so there could be a way to fight that? If thats not possible dig out the resume and spice it up! Someone out there would love to have you to work for them.
3rdly Keep you head up! take baby outside and jog/walk with them! Getting involved in group classes, such a mommy and me or baby bootcamp can really give you a boost to be around other moms and they might be facing a similar situation to yours!
I hope this helps!

Yes, congrats on the baby! (Way better than a job)
Really sorry about the bummer news. I am wondering if they were just chatting you up since they had already decided to let you go since you were gone but couldn't due to the maternity leave issues. I agree with JM that you may have grounds to pursue some type of action (not sure if you want to even pursue that - not written as a deterent but more as a just not sure about where you stand on this - if you're game then by all means go after them because you were wronged).
I guess just focus on your family while looking for another job. At least that's the plus to that - more time w/ your baby. Feel free to add me as a friend and message me if you need someone to talk to or bounce ideas off of (if you have nobody).
Life has been challenging lately so being able to help another person is a worthwhile endeavour. Hang in there and enjoy your time w/ your baby! HAGD
