Heya!
I'm Jeff, A big ol' jolly Dutch guy with a big sense of humour.
I wont bore you with my life story. But I've been struggling with pretty much everything for a long time now. Been through a lot of crap.
But I'm ready, I've been ready for a while.
To get things happening and moving again!
World of Warcraft and gaming in general saved my life, litteraly. But it gave me more than I bargained for. About 30kg+ and a major case of manboobs and snack belly whahaha.
And my goal with Fitbit is to lose at least 20kg of it. Which I know I will do.
Since the Charge 2 and Aria have been a huge investment for me!
I'll be building up my strength first. Thinking of 5k steps a day, 15 mins on the exercise bike and 15 minutes of dumbells and stretching exercises.
During my walks out I'll also be playing Pokemon GO on their bluetooth device. So I wont be able to pair my Charge 2 while outside. Since I'll have GO connected. I read that the Charge 2 can store about a week of date. Except for the GPS, since I'll be using GO outside. But that's fine.
Motivation is an issue of mine. My current living situations isn't helping much. Stress eating is a big issue. It's giving me a lot of stress and anxiety, but I'm determined enough to make it this time!
I hope this was the correct topic to place this.
Feel free to give me a friend invite or whatnot!
I'll be updating my profile details in the coming week.
See ya on the road!
Jeff.

Welcome, Jeff!
Fellow life struggler here, so I can relate and I applaud you for getting down with it.
Regarding pairing your Charge 2 to your phone, I just wanted to tell you that you don't need to do that when exercising. Just put your Charge in exercise mode and it will do it's thing and will show you real time stats on your Charge while you play.
When you get back inside you can sync your Charge to the app to update your daily total (this can be done at any time and takes just a few seconds).
You can also use manual tracking if you prefer or if you forget to wear your Charge.
You might want to check out the Looking for Fitbit Friends? Find some here! thread or you can participate in threads like the Weekly Weigh-In thread or challenges that go on for a few weeks before a new one is made like the April Absurdity 2017 Step Goal Challenge and the Memorial Day Challenge (this one also has more general discussion about struggles and victories in day to day life).
There are all kinds of people around with different goals, from losing weight to maintaining or gaining. Everyone does their own thing and there's no competition. People are also very helpful if you have any questions about pretty much anything and can be a great source of motivation.
Good luck on your journey and hope to see you around!

Congratulations on your first steps. Don't sweat the pairing of your fitbit. I would also download MyFitnessPal which you can connect to fitbit. Track everything that you eat/drink which helps me with eating discipline.
Start by setting hourly goals for steps as well. If you have for instance 300 steps an hour for 10 hours a day you'll see that if you haven't hit 300 with 10 minutes left in an hour your fitbit will vibrate reminding you to get off of the game :). I work behind a computer and I get lost in my work so something as simple as this makes me aware that I haven't moved anything but my hands in an hour.
Good Luck and don't quit. You will find that you will exceed your goals and it will be normal very shortly. If you stick to it, it simply becomes a part of your lifestyle.

Hello fellow Dutch person and World of Warcraft gamer (though I have been off that game for many years now as I moved on to other games, I still have great memories of it)! Welcome to the community and great that you are starting this journey. I see you already got some nice links to some great posts to start making friends. Whenever you struggle with motivation it can be really good to come to these boards and read stories from others and/or post about your struggles. You will find everyone is very supportive here.
