Older Alta

ANSWERED

My Alta was put away for a while, I just started using it again and like another person I've seen, it says Outdoor bike for my exercise.  um.. I haven't ridden a bike for years.  All I do is walk, walk around the house, outdoors, and up and down stairs.  I wear on my non dominant arm and can't figure out how to change it to walking.  I suppose I could just ignore it but then I don't get an accurate account of my activity.  If it is broken, then I'll have to retire it.  No warranty and affording a new one isn't in the budget.

That has nothing to do with age or condition of the tracker.  It auto-detected an activity and tried to guess, just from the movement pattern of your wrist, that it was a bike ride.  It  sometimes gets these wrong for all Fitbit models of any age.

On phone app, tap the days of exercise tile, then gear icon near top right.  That will show the types of exercise that it might try to auto-recognize.  For any that you don't expect to do, tap on it, then turn off 'auto-recognize' slider near top.  You even might want to turn all off except for "Walk".

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
