I've seen several posts by @Heybales that pointed to articles on Lyle McDonald's site and that got me interested in some of his books, primarily A guide to flexible dieting. Has anyone read any of them, and if so, what did you think of them?

I've never read "Flexible Dieting" but I did read and do "The UD2" It's a great book. It's entertaining, informative and easy to follow. Well, it was difficult. The carb manipulation was tough in combination with the training, but I managed to get cut up. I would definitely recommend it for someone who wants to get shredded.

Thanks for the recommendation, Rachel! I ended up buying both A Guide for Flexible Dieting and The Ultimate Diet 2.0 (for $10 off for doing that). I like the author's no-BS style. I'm already half-way through flexible dieting and I look forward to experimenting with "free meals" and "structured refeeds".

Never bought the book, but I always knew the rule of thumb is to avoid "McDonald's" and other places to lose the stubborn belly fat.
