So in December 2016 Fitbit bought smartwatch pioneer Pebble and just a few days ago also Vector watch - a "European smartwatch startup". So there seems to be a definite hunger at Fitbit to expand more into the smartwatch space.
I had been eyeing on the Fitbit Surge, then the Blaze, but held back by none of them really being a smartwatch that connect well to anything other than the Fitbit app on my smartphone (in fairness: Blaze shows some phone notifications). Also the battery lifetime of these Fitbit watches always meant that they lost against my trusty Charge which I've therefor stayed with over the past years.
Now looking back at the previous Fitbit product releases: Surge was announced October 2014, Blaze January 2016, no announcements at this year's CES and combine that with at least a year of integrating these new aquisitions into Fitbit:
Do you think we can expect a new Fitbit smartwatch in 2017? What would you expect from it?
I am mainly looking for a resonable combination of Fitbit's existing fitness watch expertise with the (display and battery) technology to allow for a week long battery charge.
