I love Pilates! When I was first starting out, I was able to take a class that was led by a young woman who was studying to be a physical therapist. She was amazing! The right instructor can really make a difference in terms of preventing injury and ensuring that you are doing the exercises correctly to get maximal benefit.
Once I had mastered the basics, I started doing Pilates on my own. At that time, I had a job that required a lot of travel. I really appreciated being able to do Pilates wherever I was, with little or no equipment. Of course, once COVID closed my health club, I found myself doing Pilates alone at home.

@alexthecat Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Pilates. I find it very interesting and helpful since I have a lumbar hernia and I was advised to do Pilates. Your post makes a lot of sense to me, so I'll better take my first class with an instructor in order to avoid doing anything wrong and hurt myself.
See you around and please stay safe! 😀

Hello @alexthecat! That is great to read.
I'm also interested in taking up Pilates, do you have any general pointers? Or maybe a good online resource for it? It is kinda intimidating to look through Google or Youtube and not really be sure who is actually good.

I'm a big fan of Ana Cabán. She has lots of YouTube videos for people with all levels of experience and fitness. One thing that I love about her is that she doesn't just cue exercises. She explains why we are doing what we are doing. I find her videos to be both effective and educational.

@alexthecat Thank you for sharing the name of the YouTuber. I'll definitely look for her channel since I was a little bit skeptical just like @LanuzaFitbit about following a good Pilates instructor.
