I have had my firbit for about 2 weeks. I want to become healthier. Should I purchase the premium option? Is it worth it? How is it different from what I have now?

The most worthwhile aspect of the Premium addition is that it gives you a training plan to increase your calorie burn and activity level over 12 weeks. A secondary value is it gives you the ability to download your data. Otherwise, it's neither very much more informative or helpful from the regular package.

I believe you can try it for one week for free. Since you're new to Fitbit, I'd suggest you wait a little before starting the free trial. This will let you have a better knowledge of the way your Fitbit account works.
I personally wasn't convinced of the benefits of the Premium plan. If you want to download your data, you can do so for free via a third-party solution. Benchmarking yourself against your peers is nice, but once you've seen where you stand (which you can do during the free trial), things aren't going to change dramatically from there.

I never saw much benefit in it, either, for me. How hard is it to make slightly more challenging goals for yourself each week? And once you get to your goal activity level, the challenge is in just remaining consistent.
Maybe if the premium option included a subscription to Audible.com or something...

:If you Fitbit says I am hungery and you have to leave it at home to charge it does not matter if you are on the premium plan or not -- no steps:)
