Resting Heart Rate

Okay my question is this:

Had the fitbit for over a month. It gives me a resting heart rate each day. However, when I go on my break at work my Pulse will be below the stated resting heart rate. Example: says 58 resting bpm, and right above it is my current pulse at 53 bpm.

Why is my current pulse 5 bpm below my supposed resting heart rate? Should that not be my resting rate?

I dont think so.  Fitbit is probably calculating it by not just getting it while you are at rest but also while you are active and asleep.  I believe fitbit is taking other data into account for you RHR.
