Running Shoes for Trail Running/Cross Country

ANSWERED

I'm looking to buy some new running shoes; I currently have a pair of Nike Flex I've had for about a year now, they're pretty worn down I've found that they really don't work that well for running/jogging on trails like I tend to. The soles feel too thin, and I can really feel the rocks on my feet. I was wondering if you guys had some suggestions as to good shoes for trail running or cross country. I don't particularly have a preference for brand, though i do find that Nike's tend to fit my feet better.

I would go to a good running shoe store and get fitted. They will look at your gait and give you a couple of options to pick from.

Mine even lets me go outside to run. Its well worth it and your feet will love you for it.

If Nike shoes tend to feel good to you, you should stick with it (they tend to be narrow).

Visit a running shoe store in person (if you want assistance) or online - lots of choices in shoes,

some made for trail running (may feel heavy). Shoes s/b changed about every 500 mi. of wear.

To the above I'd add that it helps to find an app that tracks the miles you've covered with your shoes.  I track my road shoes and trail shoes so I know when it is getting time to replace them.  I do it closer to 400 miles but would rather be safe than sorry.
