Hoping to keep the good encouragement that was going on the thread named the same in the old forums. Wish FItbit would have transferred the active threads automatically. I did the virtual Jingle bell 5K this afternoon on the treadmill. 11:29 pace. Not my best but it is done. Jill I agree with the weather kind of hindering things. I am trying my hardest to continue running outside. So I am now only one day behind on the streak. I will try to catch that up after the gym tomorrow evening. Hope everyone is doing well and can find this thread!

Ran 4.5k tonight on the treadmill...Cant wait for the lighter nights so I can hit the roads. Really need to sort my day out so that I can run during the day rather than on an evening. I am amazed how many steps you clock up when running!
Going to try to fit another run in tomorrow.

Way to go Leslie!
I agree with you, I wish they would have transferred the active threads into this forum. I am not sure I like this forum. I was so used to the old format. This may take some getting used to.
I am still without a run since Sunday. I spent all day running around to appointments and my daughter's holiday shop at school. Hoping for some gym time tomorrow.

Thanks for settting this up again, Leslie! And congrats on the Jingle 5K. Bobby's Mom said that they received the medal. She was surprised that I was mailing something to her from so close! Apparently they drive through your town quite a bit!
I've been sick the last couple of days and struggling to even get in my 1 mile a day for the streak.
I am concerned that the other people will find this thread as well. Wishing you all a great day!

Hope you feel better soon Jerry! I sent messages to a few folks. I also am hoping that folks can find it. At least you have a Pic here. I couldn't even figure that out this morning. I did say to my husband when I saw the address for the medal "Wow we could drop that off!" I am glad that it arrived. I am sure he was excited to recieve it.

I did 2 miles yesterday after the gym so I am all caught up on my streak now. Hoping I can keep it that wa now. Another round of bad weather headed this way. Hoping to get an outside run in Saturday if it isn't to bad.

Kept up my streak, even on two days when i wasn't feeling top notch. Been doing some of the running at night, which is a switch for me, but has been fitting my schedule. Last night I ran a 5K at a 10:30 pace, which is very good for me. The weather was decent (around 50°) which really helps. Slept better, too!

I start week 7 next week. I don't know how much farther I'll get. I surprised myself by getting through the 25 minute jog, but my knees are not happy with me today. Even if this is as far as I get I'm happy and surprised I made it through six weeks.

Butting in....who's Bobby?
Jerry, hope you are feeling better. I went to the gym late last night and ran 3.16 miles. I am still behind on my mile/day minimum so I still owe, but will hopefully get myself back to even this weekend. Although it is supposed to snow this weekend again.
I spent the week helping at my daughter's school for their Holiday Shop. All those K, 1 and 2nd graders and little fingers and noses has left me with the start of quite a cold....hope it is short lived because I am so behind on my own shopping.....
Happy Friday to everyone.
Carla, you can do this. You are doing awesome. Are you running outside or on the treadmill?

I was outside but switched to the treadmill a week ago. It's too cold outside.

Just ran my second official 5K this morning and had an average pace of 10:28 (finish time was 32:28.30), so very close to your same pace. But unlike you (at least according to your profile About Me), I'm nowhere near ready to consider even a 10k let alone a half marathon!

CarlaJ- Stick with it you will be amazed what your body can do when you push it. If your needs are bothering you, you might want to consider getting fitted for different shoes. They make a world of difference.
Jill-Bobby is the young boy that Jerry is paired for on the IRun4 webpage.
I have done the C25K program twice now and the 10K program once. I am debating starting the 10K program again soon. I ran mostly inside when I started. I am now trying to switch that around as running outside is very different than a treadmill. I also am trying my hardest to stay outside as long as I can. I ran with my Daugher (23 y/o) today as she did a 5K Jingle Bell Virtual run. It was 23 degrees with windchill and snowing. At some points it was hard to see but I had a blast. I am learning that there really isn't bad running weather just runners that are not properly dressed.
I normally don't worry to much about time anymore. I figure if I am moving forward I am doing good.
Doug-Congrats on your second 5K! I have one more virtual 5K to get done before the end of the month.
Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Finished week 7 today. It kind of threw me to find out there are no breaks for walking now, but I made it through it. Yippee! I'm doing something I never thought I could do.

I've also been slacking in my posting. The days have been flying by. Welcome! This is one of my favorite threads in this community!
I did get to the gym finally for the first time since Sunday and completed 4 miles- 3 of them were running miles. The last mile was a walk/jog.

Leslie, what exactly does it do? I'm curious. And did you go for your run? I did get some winter outdoor running clothes and have done 1 run outside. My poor nose ran all the way too!

Anyone can post in any thread, with the exception of forums reserved for Fitbit employees making announcements or whatever. But if there is a Reply button, you are welcome to post.
That said, it is typically helpful if your post is related to the thread subject matter. If it is about something else, or you have a question, I'd recommend you start a new topic. You are much more likely to get timely and relevant answers. Plus it really helps future searches by others.

I did go for a run. Did 3.82 miles. The watch tells me laps, time, distance, heart rate and some other things I haven't figured out yet. It uploads all the data to the webpage. It also gives me splits which is what I am most excited about. It also has a virtual partner so you can tell it what you pace you are shooting for and it alerts when you are ahead or behind. I am still exploring and playing with set up but so far I am a very happy runner. Not sure how Hubby will beat this next year. Maybe that running puppy I have been asking for
?
