Does the fitbit record steps on the Stairmaster? If not, what's the best way to record this activity? Floors, steps, mileage, time? Thanks!!

Thank you for this detailed information! I’m Im a veteran stair master but brand new to Fitbit and I am just getting used to logging my workouts. So if I am understanding you correctly, you recommend wearing the Fitbit with the stairmaster activity running, and then manualy log the activity after with the calorie count listed from the machine? And since they are both logged in the app at the same time for the same duration they will be counted as the same activity and not double activity?
I guess I’m a little skeptical of this because a main draw in getting the Fitbit was to get an accurate calorie burn from the activity instead of relying on the machine which doesn’t have my heart rate and physical stats.

fitbit got a stairclimber activity you could use to count your calorie burn providing your fitbit got one, i dont think it will track the floors count accurately though.

Then why don't they just provide us with a switch. So we can slide it and tell the watch to count all steps comming as fights 🤔. Jesus in this day and age and they don't know how yo do nothing.

This can only be done this way at moment In the Fitbit app, choose the Today tab and then the Exercise tile. Tap on the + icon/Log or Log Previous to add an exercise. Choose driving as the exercise type but make sure the details overlap the time period of the unwanted steps or floors. Tap Add or Log.
