Hi all,
I'm interested in hearing anyone's experiences with using a standing desk. Did you buy a purpose built one? Did you hack yourself one out of different items? How did you like it? Anything at all you'd like to share.
I really hate to sit, moreso now that I have real feedback about my daily activity levels, and I work at a computer all day. I try to move around as much as possible but I think I'd like to give a standing desk a go as well.
Thanks,
Erin

I guess I would love a standing desk since sometimes during the day, I need to move my legs. Hopefully sometime.

Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to find an independant study regarding the use of standing desks and can only find "studies" by design companies or stockists of the standing desks.
I googled the term "standing desk health benefits study" and only got the aforementioned results, of evidence and claims not backed by referencing the source of the studies they carried out.
This is quite scary because so far I am unable to find anything substantial from a reliable source other than a company who either designs these desks or sells them.
If sitting is so bad for you, I would like to see how wheelchair users are affected. However, I understand that wheelchair users are being active by using their upper body to get around, so why have a wheelchair instead of a standing desk?
I am not for or against standing desks, I am simply trying to find a source for independant information that shows some proper referenced evidence to support either claim.
What are the thoughts of the group?
