Starting my morning off right

Okay. I was just wondering what you guys do in the morning to start your morning right besides coffee and workout. Im talking about nutrition wise. I want to know what i should do for good nutrients and stuff to get my morning going so i can be energize through the day and everything. Yesterday i bought Ensure original nutrition shake because my coworker buys it and she said it works. I want to know if i should do protein shake or something. I work at CVS, so if anyone knows a good product that i can get at CVS... please tell me. I saw protein stuff with greens and wondering if i should do that? I take a multivitamin every morning too.

I start my mornings with 2 glassesof water with 1/2 lemon squeezed in.  It rehydrates you and the lemon jumpstarts your metabolism.

The best thing you can do for your body nutrition-wise is to EAT A NUTRITIONALLY BALANCED BREAKFAST.

Eating breakfast is going to get you ready for the day by starting up your metabolism. If you've got energy from your breakfast running through your veins you're going to be a lot less tired after waking up (as long as your breakfast isn't too big or heavy).

Sure, you could try doing Ensure shakes, but keep in mind that those are primarily designed as a dietary supplement and not a substitute. Doctors give them to people who are physically incapable of consuming enough nutritious foods to fuel their bodies, like eating disorder patients and people with gastrointestinal disorders. You're already taking a multivitamin, so you should be able to get all of your micronutrients from that, and I'm assuming that you can eat real food, so that should be able to cover your macronutrients.

Depending on your weight and body composition goals, you will have to decide what you'd like to eat for breakfast. Ideally, you'll want to have an appropriate balance of protein, carbs, and fats while eating to meet your calorie needs for the day. For weight loss, an egg-white-and-veggie omelette is a go-to breakfast for me. It's low in fat, and high in protein and fiber. If you're trying to gain or maintain weight, you might prefer the whole egg and an extra side of breakfast sausage to cover your protein and fat intake for the morning. If animal products aren't your thing, oatmeal with some kind of nut butter or a fortified cereal with soy or almond milk should do the trick.

Try messing around with your diet in the morning and seeing what foods make you feel good and which ones make you feel not so good. And of course, don't force yourself to eat things just because they're "good for you."

(Also, the person above me is right. Drinking water first thing in the morning is so good for you!)

I eat a special K waffle and 125 calories worth of fruit- whatever fruit I have. That is 200 calories for breakfast. Along with a glass of water and coffee. This is plenty for me to get in gear, get to work and stay productive. but like the previous post- balanced, nutritious- its personal preference- what do you like to eat?

I agree with the previous posts. You want something you like that's nutritious and balanced. If you want something quick and shake-like, I would make one with a blender, yogurt and fruit.
