Stationary bike, not sure if this is accurate way to count...

I'm not sure if this is an accurate way to count steps on the bike, but this morning I hovered my hands over my legs and when my legs came up they'd "hit" the palm of my hands registaring a step on my Charge.

If all you want to do is count steps this is a great idea. But riding a stationary bike is probably burning a different amount of calories than walking would. So its up to you whether you just want to get your steps in or if you want that accurate calorie count from your workout.

I have a old Surge with the XL band.  It doesn't fit my wrist anymore, but it does fit around my ankle.  So I put the Surge on my ankle I get a few thousand steps for 40 minutes.  My surge uses my heart rate to come up with calories burned, and is usually the same amount that my stationary bike says I burned.

No tracker is every going to be 100% accurate on step counts or calorie burned.  They just get us in the ball park so we can monitor our health and decide how many calories to eat.

But if you really want a more accurate step count, you'll have to hit the bricks as they used to say, and go for a walk or run in the park.  Or get on a real bike!  I have a stationary bike, and I hate it.  I'd rather be outside a million times more...
