Stepping over the holidays!

Hi everyone.  Are you finding it easier or harder to get steps in this time of year?  Do you have time off from work?

I have been getting in a lot of steps since I took some vacation time, and have been making it a priority to get up early and walk.  It's an all around win: get in steps, get some exercise, and explore parts of the city I haven't yet discovered.

How have you managed?

Hi julie_jelt.  Great question!  I'm a first grade teacher on break for 2 weeks.  I thought I would would be going for serious exercise walks regularly while off work.  I guess I'm so tuckered out, because I have been SO lazy!  I still have 10 days to get it together and take advantage of down time!  Thank you for inspiring me!  Keep stepping!  Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy, fit, and safe holiday season!

I don’t do much of any exercise on Holidays. I get lazy…

There is plenty of days during the year for me to do what I need to do….

I vote for day off. Spend some time with family.

Sounds like you all do a really good job at getting in your steps.  I didn't do as well today because we were visiting family and then having a dress on it is hard to find a place to clip my fitbit one on my body.  I hope to get a wrist fitbit for Christmas!

I find it harder to get steps when I'm off work. Yes, I have more time to step, but I'm a teacher, so I get a lot of steps at work.

One thing that makes me walk, even when I'm off is a site called Walkadoo. They give me a goal for the day, so I make sure I hit it. Challenges also keep me motivated.

@julie_jelt, I'll admit that it's been more difficult to keep the pace these last few days, but I'm looking forward to get back on track as soon as possible, reaching the daily step goal has really become a habit, which is great!  Smiley Very Happy

Ive been getting those steps in by window shopping and visiting decorated areas. Ive actually been able to get more steps in during this time than any other since the weather has also been cooperating.
