I have noticed for months now that my daily total has been feeling low, but just recently actually caught it subtracting the steps in real time. It was earlier in the day and the count was up to 2234, when it should have updated to say 2235 it instead changed to 2193. That's when I started watching it more carefully during workouts and noticed that it does this rather frequently, even though it seems the original count estimation is more accurate.
I'll be in the middle of something (either walking or using the elliptical) and I'll be watching the steps count up correctly on the watch face. Then, suddenly, the watch will subtract a good 50ish steps from the total. It does this randomly and not when the watch is being synced. The previous step total is the correct one, as I have counted along with the Fitbit. It just randomly decreases the steps to an incorrectly low number.
Has anyone had this issue? I've seen the step deletion issue related to syncing, but I've had this happen while my phone Bluetooth was off - so my problem seems to be independent of syncing. I've tried two different Fitbits and had them both do the same thing.

Mine is recently doing this much to my annoyance. I only got the Fitbit for Christmas and it weren’t set up for use until February because of a phone memory issue. However yesterday I was really pleased with 14600 steps, since it clicked to midnight I came on to show my partner my step count and info from our busy Sunday out… it now says 3100?! So annoying. I’ve also noticed it’s very hit and miss on the sleep logging.
