Swimming algorithm

Clearly I do not understand the Swimming algorithm. If I swim 1000 meters in 35 minutes the software on my PC show more calories burned than if I swim 1000 meters in 33 minutes. That is clearly not correct. Can anyone explain this anomaly?

The formula is based on a range. Just as many of them are.

For instance, swim 1500 - 2500 meters an hour is  X calories per min. (yours is 1714 and 1818 mhr)

So you go longer time with that formula, you burn more. (yours is 35 min vs 33 min, so bigger burn)

But obviously you go faster, you burn more too, but that won't be seen as long as the pace was within that range.

So in my example, you'd be given same calorie burn if you logged swimming 1 hr either 1500 m or 2500 mhr.

Better calculator and log your own calorie burn.

Thanks for the explanation, which is pretty much what I figured.  Also for the website.
