NEVER TO FAT FOR POOL, I'm 75 weight 313.5, 1st wk in dec 2016 started running in pool, just into my 4th wk, have lost 12 lb, workout 7days a week from 1 to 2hr sessions, i could Burn lot more CALORIES, If I was Able to swim as I have shoulder Injury I use fitbit Premium, and be guided by Trainer, you have to be prepared to record what you do in pool and what your eating, water resistance traing is great.

Sounds like you are doing great!
Dont feel embarrassed. I have found people are more impressed when you are getting out there and doing things to improve.

I've always thought that those at the gym who get judgemental are superficial, ignorant, and full of themelves. Ask them to run on the treadmill carrying an extra 100+ pounds and see how they do, I bet it would be quite hard.

water activity is really good for keeping joints and bones healthy because it absorbs the "shock" movement puts on them. kudos to you for doing the right things. As far as being overweight for the gym- that's the whole point of going to the gym. I would much rather see an overweight person putting in effort and taking care of themselves than a gym full of skinny people socializing and hardly breaking a sweat. Do what works, do what you love, do what feels good- the heck with every one else.
