Tracking aerobic activity

Hi!  I'm getting a good number of steps daily -- anywhere between 10-17K with active minutes.  I'm participating in the Self spring challenge currently and doing a 30 min workout attached to that.  The other day the fitbit automatically logged 30 mins aerobic activity but yesterday and toady after doing similar workouts (weights, core, etc.) it didn't automatically log as "exercise" though my active minutes reflected the time put in.  Should I care?  Should I log manually?

Welcome to the forums!

Its up to you. I find that smart track can miss a lot. I like to see what I have done so I use Workout mode for most the stuff so I can rename it to what I really did.

So if you want to see it all then time then yes use your watch. You can have up to 7 shortcuts that will show up on your phone. If not then use workout mode for what is not and set up a custom exercise so you can rename it.

Custom exercise is at the bottom of the exercise tab

Hope to see you around!

I think it depends on what you asked.. do you care? For me, I don't care what it thinks I am doing as long as my calories reflect what I am doing because I am calorie driven. For some reason when I walk the dogs, the tracker will log the activity as elliptical, which is funny. I don't know what motions I am making. I will change that to walk just because it is ridiculous. I do think however, that if you are monitoring how many calories you lose per activity or keeping track of what you did in a specific week or looking for trends, then for sure name and keep track.
