Uneven step pattern vs. Fitbit accuracy

Because of a medical problem I had as an infant my steps are uneven in that my right foot never touches "Heel to Toe" and it always appears in the form of a slight limp. It's strictly a flatfooted step whereas my left foot is perfectly normal. Does Fitbit count all my steps equally?

As long as you move your arms along as you walk, your steps get recorded. Experiment with it and see how things go.

It'll likely count them just fine.

But it could fool it with how far the step was based on Fitbit's calculated stride length. And that will effect the calorie count assigned to it, because pace and weight is the calculation. And you could be throwing off the pace.

You might want to manually figure out and correct at least the walking stride length.

Got access to a treadmill?
