Walking and heart rate

Have noticed that when I am using a treadmill or hiking my pulse rate can get to, lets say 120. When I stop hiking or slow down it increases for a while. Just wondering why that is. Seems like when I stop to take a break for a minute or two it should come down. In pretty good shape and can hike all day without trouble.

I wouldn’t focus too much on what the HR reading is at any given moment of the day. You’re wearing your Fitbit 24/7, so metrics gathered over longer periods of time, like RHR and Cardio Fitness Score (and how they evolve over time) are more meaningful IMO.
