I am an athletic and I am just wondering how much water I should drink per day? I excerise a lot during the day. Thanks!

I've always heard you should drink half your body weight in ounces. So, I'm about 120 most of the time. Bare minimum, I try to drink 60 ounces a day. When I do a lot of exercise, I tend to add anywhere from 20 to 20-40 ounces on top of that. But that's just what I've found after experimenting for a while!
Really, I'd say you gotta figure out what makes you feel the best through a bit of trial and error. I do tend to feel better around 80 ounces a day. If all else fails, ask your doctor!

If you are really paranoid you can weigh yourself before and after a long workout. If you are not drinking enough water you will weigh less at the end...... each lost 1lb equates to 2 x 8 oz cups worth of water that needs to be replaced.
It sounds a bit of overkill, but some years ago I was training for a marathon and could end a long run being several lbs lighter.
