Hi folks,
I have my tried-and-true playlists for the gym, but could use some new suggestions. What do you run/walk/bike/stretch/lift weights to?
My first tips: For cardio, the speed needs to be a bit higher, but I don't worry too much about the beats per minute, instead focusing on an upbeat, happy sound to keep me going through that twenty-first minute when I'd REALLY like to bail out. I love "Mi Swing es tropical", by Quantic and Nicodemus (it was used a few years ago for an iPod commercial). For my weights circuit, I love listening to the Doors. I especially like "Five to One", for its slight edge of aggression, which helps me think "yeah, I'm tough, I can do this!". For stretching out after, I tend to like more instrumental music, but still something modern. Something that reminds me to untense my muscles and relax. "Unspoken" by A.M. Architect is particularly good for this.
OK, hope you've enjoyed my tips. Now post yours! 🙂

i am a child of the 80's . Therefore, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Ratt, and VanHalen are on my play list. I throw in some Kelly Clarkson, Nelly,Backstreet Boys, and New Kids on the Block to keep it from being a total heavy rock workout.
My favorite workout song is Dr. Feelgood

Must agree with Lisa, child of the 80's myself. Motley, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica. Some of the Joe Satriani instrumentals are great for cardio, try Summer Song or Surfing with the Alien. And ok I will admit there are a couple Kelly Clarkson songs on my playlist as well.

Yo... seriously though
EVERYONE NEEDS TO DOWNLOAD SONGZA. They have the best playlists out there. Like forreal. They're great. I always work out to the workout playlists on songza! They're not all one genre either! They have indie, pop, rap, and many more genres and they're all fast-paced for workout bliss!
Seriously guys... do it!

I always listen to Liquid Drum and Bass. People not having heard of this should check it out. Definitely.

Right now I am listening to Game of Thrones on audio! It's not music but listening to a book keeps me busy.

I am the kind of person who cannot hear someone talking because I get distracted listening, space out and stop
Electronic music does the trick for me, latin music too, but you start dancing and that may throw you off an ellyptical machine lol . I've found these sets for 1+ hours full of electronic music called +Nescafe, they are found on pretty much all music streaming pages and they are pretty good to work out.
