World Walking, anybody?

I like Fitbit's challenges, and I like Fitbit's 'adventures' perhaps even more, but there are only six of those adventures...

But there is Worldwalking.org....
That site has 150+ 'walks', comparable with Fitbit's adventures..

Some are only some 10,000 steps (like Singapore: 32,495), others are really long (Road to Rio 2016: 72,380,227 steps). 

You can explore countries on about every continent on earth...

Walks can be done solo or groupwise.  When you walk as a group, each member's steps are added to the total.  
It would be fun to have a group with people from 'everywhere', and exploring each others country...

You have to create an account on worldwalking.org, and linking your fitbit is very easy.  You choose which walk you're going to walk, or you join a group.  Your Fitbit steps are then added to your 'step-bankaccount', and you can distribute them among the walks you are currently doing.

If more users here want to 'explore the world', I'll create a group, and then we can start exploring!

(I would like to suggest we start with my tiny little country, Belgium... That walk is only 645,000 steps, and we'll be visiting the largest town (I wouldn't call them 'cities' as even Brussels has a population of only 1,000,000. The walk starts in Leuven (Louvain), my favorite, as I studied at Louvain University ...)

We left Louvain, and are heading for Dinant now.  So we already crossed the language border, and are now in the French speaking part of Belgium.

@4Melanie   I'm sorry, but I think this will be a dead end for you.  This is a very old thread, from 2018.  I looked at the OP's public profile.  They haven't visited this site since 2018.

@4Melanie their group is in the World Walking app, not in the Fitbit app. I use World Walking, so I looked up their group. It is still there, but seems to be inactive. 

Do you have the World Walking app? It's pretty cool, if you liked the old Fitbit Adventures. Maybe this would be a good time to start a new Fitbit group in World Walking. What do you think?
