ability to change walk exercise to shoveling stopped recently

Hi Fitbit Community,
Since September 2024 when Guy responded how to edit exercises in another post, I was able to select or search for exercises like mowing lawn, shoveling, etc.  Shoveling and shoveling coal were two search results in my Versa 3 Fitbit app's search when doing "+ Add Exercise".  Mowing Lawn still shows, but Shoveling and Shoveling coal no longer show as options.
In the last few weeks, I even tried logging / adding a Walk exercise from start to end time of the shoveling I did, then edit the "type" of exercise to shoveling so that I could at least get to log what my heart rate went up during that period.  Now, I can't find Shoveling, or edit a logged walk exercise to shoveling.  This all seems to have occurred in the last 2-3 weeks (probably after a Fitbit application update).  What gives?
Anyone who gets their heart rate to 135+ while shoveling snow, knows that it is exercise, especially when we are decked out in heavy clothing to keep us warm, so we perspire alot as well.  Several other chores where I get a workout is shoveling dirt, sucking up leaves or raking the lawn in the fall with a leaf blower or rake, and yes, sometimes doing power shopping at Costco with the heavier packages can be a workout in itself.
Would be nice if we could still customize what we consider workouts.
I also do physio using bands and bowflex which is not weights, it is more like "resistance training" for upper body.  Any assistance would be great!
Best regards,
Gerry

Hello @Gerryco

There's been an ongoing known issue on the Fitbit side that affects our ability to edit completed workouts in the Fitbit app. It was partially fixed for Android users, but returned after an app update.

As far as I know, the team is aware of the issue and has been working on fixing the problem. However, I haven't seen a timeline for the fix. It's way overdue in my opinion.

For now, you can submit the issue using the Feedback option in the Fitbit app.

  • Tap your picture in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Select Feedback in the menu that opens
  • Complete the prompts & submit

Although it's likely that you won't receive a reply, the team receives & reviews the feedback reports.

If you have Strength Training as one of your workout options, you try that activity to track your bands & bowflex sessions.

Thanks RiekoC,
I thought it was fixed too, but that was short lived (it worked from Sept-2024 to early Jan-2025).
I run my fitbit 4.35 app on my Galaxy S22 Ultra running Android 14, with latest security patch/update January 1, 2025.
Unfortunately, my app does not show any feedback link or icon anywhere, so I guess I'm out of luck.
Thanks for the tip about strength training...that is available, so I will use it from now on for my bowflex and bands exercies (physio).
Best regards,
