Did you mean:

can I remotely monitor my technophobe dad's daily activity?

ANSWERED

My father has a heart condition that dictates he needs to walk every day for 2 times 30 mins.

He is a little lazy so I have been looking for an activity wearable where he would see his progress but also I would as well so that I can encourage him.

he is a total technophobe so connecting devices to upload activity will not happen, looking for something that seamlessly uploads activity into the cloud and I could pick it up for him remotely.

are any of these products any good for that?

@NutterJR  Your dad have a mobile phone? You could get it all set up for him and have background syncing enabled, so you could see what he's doing.

Once he has an account and is syncing, you could peek in on his progress on your phone or computer, as long as you knew his email address and password for the Fitbit account.

You could even set silent alarms to go off as a reminder to your dad to get up and walk. As long as he keeps the tracker charged, it should be fine.

thank you @Odyssey13

What you describe sounds exactly the solution that is needed.  I am sure i will still have to remind him to charge it 🙂 but i am hoping with the combination of the silent alarms you described below and me calling him to cheer him on, he'll maintain a fitness level necessary to keep him going for longer.

all the best

@NutterJR  Tell your dad that not everyone using a Fitbit is a young jogger who runs marathons. We have older members here. Some are in their eighties and doing great.

If your dad ever gets on a computer and wants a place to make friends, this is the place.

Best of luck to you and your dad.
