Hello @emmieharvard. I noticed your post and wanted to share something I learned a couple of weeks ago. I also have trouble with getting actual sleep, and what I found out is that you need to avoid watching TV or navigating on your phone one hour before you go to sleep. This will help you increase your sleep quality, amount and you will go to sleep even faster.
I hope that this helps you out. Happy sleeping!

I have also noticed that learning at what time your body wants to go to sleep, and going to bed at that time helps. You want to be consistent with this time also.
For almost all my life I have had problems going to sleep sometimes it takes 2 hours, but last year I discovered if I consistently go to bad between 8:30 and 9:00, I'm asleep within 15 minutes, and wake up feeling like I really slept.
I have also read that you should not do any physical activity before bedtime.

Ooops! I just walked briskly on my treadmill to get to my 10,000. Got to go to bed now - hope I can sleep.
