you definately need to change your mindset, as I am continually saying to my kids, 'never say I can't, say I will try'  The only time you fail, is if you don't try.

Next time you are asked to go for a run and running isn't your thing, say I'm not a runner but a walk would be great.

NO MORE EXCUSES

I think all of us would rather not run.  Or brush our teeth, or clean our homes, or pay our bills.  Sometimes you have to decide to do some things that it's just better to do than to suffer the consequences.  It's not so much laziness as just priorities.

Maybe ask your mom if a walk would be okay instead.

I agree with the above post. Maybe ask her to go for a walk or slow jog if that is best for you. Also, try going with her just once. You would be amazed how good you feel after and it will get you motivated to want to join your mom more frequently. The key to consistent exercise is finding an activity you enjoy, not an activity you see as a "chore". Good luck!
