Did you mean:

if there are two flex's in one room, can it sync to the wrong computer?

I bought a fitbit Flex two weeks ago and I really love it.

My husband bought one too a few days ago.

We sit in the same room and sync from our separate laptops.
He doesn't seem to be able to sync his device to his computer. He has just been out for a 7k walk and returned with almost all of his 5 dots flashing on the wristband. However, when syncing it says he has only done 2000 steps.

Could there be a problem with:

a) my wristband syncing to his computer by accident?

b) his wristband not reading properly?

Any help or links would be great!

Cheers

I had the same problem when I walked around the park.  For some reason it did not add in the active minutes and steps....This is what Fitbit told me to do and it worked:

I would try resetting his device.  Just plug it in your laptop like you are charging it and use a paper clip on the back where there is a hole to reset it by holding down for a few seconds.  (you won't lose any steps)  If this does not work, I would go to the help forums and make a request to have it fixed.

You definitely don't have to worry about fitbits clashing or interfering with each other. Each device has its own special ID code and it is linked to only one account. So, you each have an account tied to a unique email address and your fitbit is uniquely tied to that account only. I have been able to sync my fitbit to total strangers computers by walking past them while they are syncing their own device. 🙂 I agree the one fitbit probably needs to be reset.

Thank you so much for answering this question. I had the same question and wanted an answer before getting my husband a fitbit. I currently sync to his cell phone or our computer. My phone is a iPhone 4 so I can view my data but can't sync to it.

I wasn't sure if they would interfere with each other and really didn't want to invest in another band to find out only one of us could use it at a time.

My fitbit has assisted in keeping me moving and I wasn't about to give it up.
