Short answer, it varies greatly, depending on the class. Using my heart rate monitor, I've had classes anywhere that burnt anywhere from 400 caloires, (full class, not much time on the pole) to 1071, (lots of spins, inversions). These classes were 1.5 hours long and included the warm up and cool down.
It also depends on your height and weight, of course. I'm 5'4" 130 pounds, one of our instructors is 6' and 190 pounds, his numbers would be very different from mine.
Best Answerhi, ive just gotten my fitbit flex today , just wondering how it goes tracking pole and dance classes.
wont get to test it in that capacity until friday, 🙂
Best AnswerIt depends on how many steps you take. The fitbit isn't particulary accurate about picking up spins, inverted movements, or other compound body movements. If your class has more floor based dance elements, it will pick up more movement than if your class is almost entirely elevated. Having said that, enjoy your Fitbit, and your class. Pole is my very favorite workout each week.
