Why do I see no change in stats on dashboard when I'm using my eliptical, recumbent bike, abcoaster, or doing jumping jacks????   Why doesn't that count towards activity or calories burned????????

I have the same problem with running on a treadmill.  It doesn't track the steps or calories burned.  That defeats the whole purpose.

Something is clearly wrong if your Fitbit doesn't track any steps/calories burned when running on a treadmill.

What Fitbit tracker do you have? Do you see changes on its display? If you see changes on the device's display, but not on your dashboard, you have a syncing problem. Have you tried to force syncing on your computer, by right-clicking the Fitbit icon and selecting Sync Now?

Also note most of the activities you mention aren't step-based. See this help article:

"Note that your active minute count will be lower for activities that are not primarily step-based, such as weight lifting, cycling, and rowing."

Thank you-----------I have the Flex.   So I don't read anything until I put on the computer.   I get it now--------only step-based activities are monitored.   That makes sense.
