Preilly-  Some studies find that the slower you lose (the lower the deficit), the more fat you lose and the more muscle you preserve.  Your best bet is probably to pick a moderate deficit and strength train to preserve muscle.  We always lose some muscle when we lose and that's not always a bad thing.  You don't need as much muscle at 150lbs. as at 250.
