AIP lifestyle, or Elimination type diet

Due to some health issues my physician reccomended that I go on an elimination diet the beginning of January and I haven't looked back since, and I was wondering if there was anyone else doing anything similar.  I'm lucky because my husband decided to do it with me and we have both had huge success with it and have decided to make it a lifestyle change but would love to meet others and exchange recipes.  Yes it's similar to Paleo but much more restricted as we don't do any red meat, etc.  Just curious.  Thanks

@jen41472 Congratulations to both of you! Making the decision and sticking to a new way of eating and get rid of bad habits is hard, I know, but I'm so happy that your husband joined you and that you both are now enjoying a healthier lifestyle.

I wanted to share with you a link that might help you out with what you need:

Continue to do a fantastic job. By the way, which tracker are you using?

I've had psoriasis since 1985.  Last year my 22 year old daughter also showed signs of psoriasis which turned into full blown psoriatic arthritis.  We both started the Auto Immune Paleo (AIP) diet; no sugar, gluten, soy, dairy, eggs, most nuts, nightshades, coffee&tea, and chocolate.

We've found lots of AIP recipes online and have keep a healthy diet, while still having equivalent "treats" and baked goods. I even found a great recipe for AIP pizza.

when I started the diet, I weighed 182lbs.  11 months I had dropped to 146lbs.  I began exercising at the gym and have now gotten back up to 150lbs., which is a good weight for me.  The only problem I'm having now is getting enough calories to build muscle.  I seem to be at or near deficit calories daily.  I eat until I'm full but I seem to burn mor calories than I take in.

Bottom line, this way of eating is healthy and can be delicious and a good way to drop some pounds.
