I came across this article accidentally. I am surprised to see some of the benefits in this article like weight lose, stabilize BP, reduces the risk of heart disease and more
Also I remember of my doctor's advise to drink lot of barley water when I was pregnant.

I'm experimenting with different grains (farro, kamut, spelt, keff, wheat berries). Like @WendyB I think I'm not really a rice person. I enjoy beef barley mushroom soup quite a bit in the winter.

Rice is just one type of grain while there are so many to explore and to mix things up. I do use barley, but I am also looking forward to exploring more like farro. Also feel like trying different kinds of rice (black and red etc.). It is sad how we as humanity produce food for efficieny and lose a lot of variety in our food due to that. Only a few main types of rice and same for corn, just to mention a few examples.

My preference is Quinoa and brown rice over white rice. I tried black rice and Red rice. Black rice has some flavor. But it's expensive 😞
