Hello, I am Ridhi, and I'm currently five months pregnant. I'm determined to maintain a healthy diet for the Healthy baby. I want to know if Fitbit watches can effectively assist in enhancing dietary habits. Can anyone provide insights or experiences on this?

Only you, in my opinion, can develop a healthy diet. The Fitbit can help you discover things about the food you are eating, liquid consumption, etc. Beyond that it is really up to you to find the diet that works for you. As a practicing vegan, I used the Fitbit extensively to follow my progress.

Fitbit may be able to provide useful motivation, during pregnancy, but it is best to talk to a medical professional or dietician who is familiar with your situation and history.

I agree, Amanda, consultation with a medical professional AND dietician is important. However, my experience our medical professionals are not always particularly trained on nutritional diets. I have talked to people whose medical professionals have suggested dietary choices that are not recommended by trained nutritionists. So I suggest getting more than one opinion and recognize there is no easy pill to take or one diet that is "painless" to follow.

I believe that the Fitbit's function is to make you more aware of what you are doing and eating in general, and from there you can make whatever adjustments that you deem necessary. Personally, I found that one of the most revealing and educational experiences was to just begin to objectively look at my food choices, and measure my servings. Once I started doing that I realized just how much I was overeating, and actually stopped using the ginormous plates that came with my set, in favor of the "salad" plates; the dinner plates were HUGE.

Yes it does assist in maintaining diet and dietary habits. From my own experience, I log all my food into Fitbit and Fitbit watch also calculates my activities and calories expended during the day. So for me to lose weight and soon, hopefully, to maintain my goal weight I have a good source to go to when it is time to know what and how much more I should be eating. The micronutrients are also displayed as grams and percentages of total calories eaten. So someone at my age, male it tells me I have eaten x% of carbs, protein, or fat and elsewhere I was given the percentages that I should be eating.
I do most of my own cooking and fortunately most recipes will have the nutritional values included so I can add my own menu items to the list that Fitbit provides. Unfortunately, most on the list are restaurants and their meals nutritional values. But if you're anything like me you have your favorite meals. Once you input their nutritional information on to Fitbit it will be there the next time you eat that same meal.
Well, I hope this helps and congratulations. Good luck with the Fitbit.
