Seeing it is complicated, I approached it with a very simple attitude. My acne started acting up badly again since I quit the contraception pill. After quite some time (half a year or longer), I thought to myself: "dairy might have an impact on this". So I tried to quit having dairy. For me it is very simple now. If I have dairy I get acne, when I stop having dairy my skin calms down.

Now I am not saying dairy is bad for everyone. Not at all. But my point is to simply experiment and see what impact it has on your body and then you can chose for yourself (which I find is basically the conclusion of the long article as well). You might actually opt to have dairy like yogurt for gut health for example.

It makes perfect sense to avoid (or restrict) foods that you know are causing discomfort, pain or other unwanted effects for you!

I only read part of it. It is essential to me. I need to make sure I get in the require amount of calcium daily or I have other problems.

@Dominique -- That explains it:  Me + Jalapenos = Why Do I Do This To Myself.

Thanks for posting the article; although, they included stuff they could have left out, like "If you have a dairy allergy, you should avoid dairy."  Really?!?  Thanks!! And, "If the milk smells terrible, and empties the room when you open it, you should avoid it."  And, "If you choose to drink directly from a cow, make sure she is lactating and wear a helmet."  No wonder it was so long.

Actually, one valuable thing I took away was to get more dairy from fermented and cultured sources.
