Describe your "typical" breakfast (what do you eat before lunch)

Generally, I have a 2 oz. Egg Beaters omelet (28 cals) on either a Mission Carb Balance tortilla (80 cals) or a Thomas English Multi-grain wheat Muffin (100 cals). I add a half slice of Hormel Canadian Bacon (35 cals) or 2-3 slices of Turkey Pepperoni (5 cals/slice) and a 1/3-1/2 oz of 2% Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese (90 cals per ounce). Total = 162 to 180 calories.  Nothing between breakfast and lunch.

It's either two eggs scrambled with mushrooms and a slice of turkey bacon in a flat-out wrap or overnight oats which consists of raw cocoa powder, a little espresso powder, a few mini chocolate chips, slices of banana, and vanilla almond milk. Both meals are under 500 calories and keep me satisfied for awhile.

I have one egg every morning for breakfast.  Currently its fried egg with minimal olive oil and non stick pan.  Sometimes its poached.  When I'm sick of fried it will be scrambled with a little milk or boiled.

I'm kind of like you Flare.  Some mornings I have a 2 egg omlet with spinach and cherry tomatoes, some times poached eggs and toast-then when I run out of eggs- 🙂  I will make homemade waffles and add fresh berries and a squirt of maple syrup.  I make my bread, my yogurt, and use organic, non-GMO ingredients.  I take a sandwich to work for my breaks, and when I have a long day (7:30am-6pm) I will take along my greek yogurt and fresh berries.  I don't buy food out except on rare occasions-like nothing in the fridge.  I made walnut/pecan butter this morning with 2 slices of bacon on whole grain bread.  I drink Bragg's Vinegar/manuka honey/lemon during the day with hot water-because I have coffee with maple syrup in the early morning before my barn work.

Haha, I just realized we have a similar schedule and breakfast. I usually do protein shakes but am not a fan during the winter. I have to.drink room temperature or hot beverages along with hot food, crazy I guess...lol I usually eat around 7:30-8:30 after my workouts(I prefer fasted work outs) as well.

I'm a warm water person as well, all year long.  Even my horses get warm water.  They drink more water which is really important especially during winter.

@nadasyInteresting that your horses drink more water when it is warm! Do you feel like you enjoy drinking warm water more than cold or what is the reason for your warm water drinking? Very interested to hear! Robot Very Happy

I've always started the day with warm water/braggs/honey and in winter add 1/2 a garlic chopped-drink right down.  Then I go to the barn and come in and eat breakfast.  My mother was English, and she did this all her life and lived to be 90.  Good for the digestion.  My sons did this as well in winter, especially the ski/snowboard racer.  Still does.  The other one lives in Miami, so he only does this if he feels a cold coming on.  My horses, since the late 50s, also have had warm water all year long-especially in winter up here in the snow belt.  They got the braggs/honey and garlic as well in their feed 3x a day.  For competing horses, they were fed 4-5 small meals a day.  Always have had healthy and happy horses.

I typically work out in the morning  so breakfast tends to be a higher calorie deal for me. I will have a latte with steamed whole milk, a  banana, and either an apple or a handful of strawberries. I like to eat fruits in the morning because they supress my cravings for sugar before lunch, and fruit is amazing for nutrients. And I will do one scrambeled egg with tomatoes, spinach, and onions. I do not add any cheese to this meal, but will have a side of whole wheat toast/muffin with butter. If I do not not work out in the morning, then I will only have a latte and two servings of fruit.

@JK1992Any time I eat real food before a workout I feel too full to workout, so for me, it's always a protein shake if I am working out. Sounds like you've been doing this for a while now so your body is probably accustomed to eating a full meal before your workouts right?

I apologize I should have been more clear, I have my breakfast after my morning workout. I workout at 5:30 and eat by 7. And I have lost 20 pounds so far eating more organically and closer to nature even if  some of those products have more calories.

@JK1992Ahhh! That makes sense! Thanks for the clarification! That's sounds like an awesome schedule as you have all day to burn the calories from breakfast.

Breakfast is half a cup of egg whites, half a cup of homemade pico, and a protein (turkey bacon, meatless sausage patty, chicken sauage..). On weekdays, we also have a protein shake since we workout in the mornings.

I love breakfast!  Oatmeal and quinoa are great options for a quick and nutritious meal.  I have added peanut butter or other fruits (not both of these together) to switch things up and have a sering of fruit.  Also, google "weight loss smoothies" or "healthy smoothies" for suggestions.  Spinach is great in them, too
