Describe your "typical" breakfast (what do you eat before lunch)

Generally, I have a 2 oz. Egg Beaters omelet (28 cals) on either a Mission Carb Balance tortilla (80 cals) or a Thomas English Multi-grain wheat Muffin (100 cals). I add a half slice of Hormel Canadian Bacon (35 cals) or 2-3 slices of Turkey Pepperoni (5 cals/slice) and a 1/3-1/2 oz of 2% Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese (90 cals per ounce). Total = 162 to 180 calories.  Nothing between breakfast and lunch.

A medium apple cored and diced cooked with a package of instant oatmeal.

Just 220 calories and the fibre from the apple helps fill you up.

Breakfast consists of a smoothie made of 1/4 cup almond milk, two Cuties mandarin oranges, 1 cup spinach leaves, 1/2 banana, 2 Tbs flax seed meal, 2 Tbs psyllium husk meal and 3/4 cup frozen fruit whirred up in my blender. D'lish.

My new favorite: I make the quick oatmeal in a packet with 2/3C almond milk, top it with a scoop of peanut butter and sliced banana. Yum! Keeps me full for hours and is comforting early in the morning because it's warm. This is good for me because I am not a fan of breakfast, so it's difficult to find a healthy option.

My breakfast is largely based on either a) what I can grab last minute and eat in the car; or b) what I can grab last minute and throw in my bag to eat at my desk.

The last few months I have had a combination of the following:

+ some variety of bread/muffin/cinnamon raisin bread.

+ my super special not-great-for-me breakfast/snack of a flour tortilla with country crock and cinnamon sugar. Don't tell my mom.

+ cottage cheese and fruit (strawberries or blueberries)

+ yogurt and granola or fruit

+ hardboiled egg

+ Good Belly mango juice

Lots of tasty ideas here guys - I personally like the idea of a baked avocado with egg, may try that for today's lunch!

My breakfast includes a bowl of oat crisp with soya milk, low fat greek yoghurt mixed in with walnut /flaxseed crumb and some honey to sweeten it up... followed by a pear. All washed down with a 150ml glass of grapefruit juice and peppermint tea with nettle 🙂

Hi @carl669

Can you please explain what bulletproof coffee is for me?

I have started drinking Black Coffee since January and usually add a tsp of Manuka Honey but am always interested in alternatives 🙂

Thanks in advance

it's coffee blended with 1 Tbsp butter (i use Kerrygold) and 1 Tbsp coconut oil (or MCT oil).  it's a nice big hit of fat to start your morning off with.  generally, most people that drink this are doing a low carb or very low carb (possibly keto) way of eating as this is basically breakfast.

@carl669 Thanks for sharing that! I've never tried Bulletproof Coffee before but might be worth a shot!

Our favorite breakfast is 1/2 cup of cooked quinoa, a poached egg (the yoke oozes over the quinoa).  A piece of multi grain bread (sometimes) and at least two servings of fruit.  One cup of tea and we're good to go.  We try and stay organic and we do that 100% with this breakfast.  About 350 calories.
