Describe your "typical" breakfast (what do you eat before lunch)

Generally, I have a 2 oz. Egg Beaters omelet (28 cals) on either a Mission Carb Balance tortilla (80 cals) or a Thomas English Multi-grain wheat Muffin (100 cals). I add a half slice of Hormel Canadian Bacon (35 cals) or 2-3 slices of Turkey Pepperoni (5 cals/slice) and a 1/3-1/2 oz of 2% Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese (90 cals per ounce). Total = 162 to 180 calories.  Nothing between breakfast and lunch.

Two rice cakes with peanut butter, banana and whatever berries I have around:  strawberries, raspberries, blackberries.  One day a week a treat myself to Eggo whole wheat waffles with the same berries.  I really need to have eggs instead, but I eat a boiled egg with my protein shake for lunch.

I microwave 1/2 cup Old Fashioned Oats, 1 cup water and 2 tablespoons peanut butter powder for two and a half minutes.  Stir, add either a sliced banana or sliced strawberries.  On Sunday's I spoil myself by adding a tablespoon of semi sweet chocolate chips.

I've never been one for traditional breakfast fare, except bacon and eggs. (I used to feel ill after cereal or toast breakfasts growing up. That made a lot of sense when I got my Celiac diagnosis.) I eat what I'd normally eat for other meals -- some kind of meat, some kind of fat, and some kind of veg. Breakfast has to be solid to start my day off well and to keep me happy and functional the rest of the day. This morning it was ground beef, mixed veggies, and homemade baconnaise. Tomorrow it will probably be chicken and veg with tahini. Every morning I start the day with black coffee with a tablespoon of coconut oil and some turmeric and cinnamon mixed in.

I just love omelet. I had like maybe around a year without eating one. I did this morning! Jam, cheese, and tomato omelette and it was fantastic. Smiley Tongue

What do you think about having vegetables for breakfast? I went to a very cool place on the weekend (check picture below), and the hotel offered this vegetarian breakfast. I asked for it and this is what it included: smashed beans, guacamole, bread, scrambled eggs, and salted vegetables. To be honest, it was really good, delicious, and it gave me a lot of energy through the morning. What do you guys think of that? Smiley Happy

I love the idea of having vegies for breakfast! They're filling, nutrient dense and help set the tone foe the rest of the day. Not to mention tick a lot of boxes off your recommended veg for the day.

I personally typically have a 2 egg omelette which I make with a large handful of spinach leaves, some sliced up capsicum and some cherry tomatoes. I serve this with baked beans on the side and a portabello mushroom if I'm feeling it. Breakfast of champions.

Of course if I'm time poor it's more often than not a couple of weetbix and a banana.

I eat the same thing every day. 2 rice cakes with 2 tbs no sugar added peanut butter, organic berry jelly and blueberries on top. I've been eating that for a long time and I would love to change to something with less fat but the habit is well ingrained! Smiley Sad

I have oatmeal - every day (OK, almost every day - if my adult kids take me out to eat, I'm not "allowed" to order oatmeal!).  I prepare it the night before, 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats, 1/2 TBS chia seeds, and half a diced apple and 1 tsp of dried cranberries - soak overnight with 1/2 cup water.  In the morning I microwave it for 2 minutes, then add 4 oz of yogurt.  I'm addicted!  Sometimes I'll mix up the fruid and use whatever I have an hand; a pear, blueberries or strawberries, or frozen fruit.

My husband says I'm stuck in a rut - if that's true, the rut is deep as this has been my "go to"breakfast for over four years!

At work (4 days/week) my breakfast is one unsweetened apple sauce cup, 1/2 a toasted whole wheat English muffin, one teaspoon I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, one tablespoon of orange marmalade, and black coffee.

On days off (3 days/week) I have one Kellogg's Nutrigrain Bar, coffee with a little bit of low-fat Nesquik chocolate milk in it.

That's it.

If I drop a couple pounds below my minimum weight range I reward myself with a restaurant breakfast, which usually gets my weight back in line.

I have a cup of egg white's with one yolk, and 1/4 cup of refried black beans or sometimes a tbs of salsa. I start by taking my suplements with a glass of lemon water..

Most week days I have a very large bowl of oatmeal fortified with a heaping tablespoon of brewer's yeast, a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon, and a level(ish) tablespoon of very dark Muscovado brown sugar.  If I'm really hungry I'll augment the oatmeal with a three egg omelet with bacon, onions, mushrooms, and swiss cheese.

On weekends I splurge, yesterday I had three eggs over easy, three pieces of bacon, two slices of cinnamon raisin toast, two large blueberry pancakes doused in butter and maple syrup; today I had four eggs over easy, three slices of caraway seeded rye bread, buttered with wild blueberry preserves on top.

We raise our own chickens, so I generally eat scrambled eggs with shredded cheese and a glass of tomato juice.
