Does anyone have some good ideas for snacking? I need some new ideas.

I am tired of the same old boring snacks. I am looking for some kind of protein cookies that are low in sugar or something of the sort.

I feel this recipe works really well if you enjoy just a plain ole oatmeal cookie:

I've made them a few times myself, and they're great, you can add a little protein powder of your own into the batch if you wanted when you're mixing and tastes just fine in my opinion (but I love just about any food I can get my hands on...except V8..) 🙂

 

 edit: I also tend to make banana chips if you wanted to go for something a bit different than just simply cookies... Just add a dab of lemon juice and heat on low for an hour and a half or so in the oven.

I make an energy bar that fills me up and satisfies my sweet tooth as follows:

1 cup oatmeal

1/2 cup Craisins

1/2 cup ground flax

1/2 mini chocolate chips

1/2 chia seeds (Buy whole chia seeds and grind them yourself)

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup peanut butter (can use almond or another other nut butter)

1/4 cup protein powder

MIx together, press into pan and cut in 1 ounce bars.

I also will throw in any of the following:  slivered almonds, sunflower seeds, coconut, chopped walnuts, dried fruit, etc. 

These can't be easier (no bake) and easy to grab and go.

Basic recipe is 198 calories per one ounce bar.

I'm a big fan of trail mix, it fills you up really fast and provides protein and fiber. Depends on what type of trail mix you get though, I usually make my own with unsalted mixed nuts, yoguart chips, and a little bit of granola.

My sister shared an awesome crepe idea with me. 

 

1/2 cup egg whites

2 scoops of my body by vi shake mix (you can contact me and I can help you order it, I actually sell it)

handful of berries of your choice or sliced banana (whatever you like)

 

mix together and pour into a skillet.  It will cook like a pancake/crepe.  I put a little of the agave nectar syrup.

 

It is amazing!!!  Full of protein and taste like dessert!

I have some questions for you on the body by vi product. I have been trying to get some information on it but it always tells me to call for the information and I really dont have time. I am interested in the shake. I would like to know how it differs from the Shakeology and could you give me some information on how many grams of protein are in one serving? And one more question...how much does it cost? And I am sure I will have more questions for you.

It's not a cookie, but it is really quick, easily to personalize, and high protein. Egg Cups! Get a big coffee mug, spray it with non-stick spray, fill it with 1/2 cup egg beaters, and 1 chopped laughing cow cheese wedge and nuke it for 20 seconds, stir, and repeat until the egg is firm. This is probably my favorite protein snack, but then again I much prefer salty over sweet.

Have you tried looking into granola bars or the like? I know Atkins had some high protein ones at Safeway. My fiance' loves the blueberry Luna bars, and says they taste like blueberry poptarts, but I'm not sure the protein count.

Hello,  I personally have never tried Shakeology.  The protein in the shake I use is pure protein. I have chocolate Shakeology here. Cal 169,fat 2g, carbs 17 g, fiber6g, sugars6g, protein 17g, sodium150mg. Shakeology, can cost $120 for a bag.

I use Raw Fit Protein organic,non HMO,vegan,gluten free, dairy free, and soy free. 28 grams of protein in one serving. It's by Garden of Life.they carry a line of many other protein products too.

I make breakfast cookies for myself, they give me a variety for breakfast but they can be used for snack as well, they use natural sugar because it is the fruit that gives the sweetness, I really like them much better than buying premade, here is one I recently made:

 

Peanut Butter Banana Oat Breakfast Cookies

2 ripe bananas mashed until smooth and creamy

1/3 c peanut butter (I used PB2 chocolate)*****

2/3 c unsweetened applesause

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 c oats (quick or old fashioned)

1/4 c chopped nuts

 preheat over to 350 degrees

In large bowl, mix banana and PB until combined then add in applesauce, vanilla and protein powder until all are completly combined.

Add in oatmeal and nuts to the banana mixture and combine, let mixture rest for 10 minutes.

 

Drop dough on non-stick cookie sheet by spoonbul and flatten into circles, bake for 20-30 mins, take out and let cool.

 

*****PB2 is a powdered peanut butter that has become very popular, you may be able to find it in your local stores now. It comes in Plain and Chocolate with 85% less fat than regular, very impressive you must try it!!! If you can't find it locally it can be found on Amazon.

I'm all for easy snacks! You'll need parchment paper and a block of your favorite hard cheese (I use cheddar). Slice the cheese into squares 1" on a side and not more than 1/4" deep. Place a piece of parchment paper in the microwave and trim it so that it fits the turntable (I just fold the paper at the corners because I'm too lazy to trim it). Place the cheese squares onto the parchment paper. Fill up the outer edge first, in a circle, and then fill in the center - the squares should be at least an inch apart. Cook on high for 2 minutes (for 16 pieces). If the cheese isn't golden brown by then, cook it for another 30 seconds. Repeat until the cheese is golden brown. The more pieces, the longer it takes. The thicker the pieces, the longer it takes. You now have cheese crackers with most of the fat cooked off. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many calories or carbs are in these crackers! LOL!!
