Eating more caloric foods when you're burning alot

I'm getting roughly to the point where I plan to walk more and more and every week....give or take. What I'm wondering is with all this extra burning I'll be doing, should I be eating more caloris type foods, or maybe more foods. How do I do that without the extra food I'm eating being just junk food?

Am I making any kind of sense?

if you plan on being more active than you should be eating food that will fuel that activity. fruit, veg, good carbs, etc. you macro and micro nutrients. As far as if you should eat more.. well that is determined by your deficit. In order to lose weight you have to be in a deficit. How large the deficit depends on you and what you feel good with. so let's say a 750 calorie daily deficit. That should be the difference between what you eat and what your burn. So if you burn 2000 calories per day, you want to eat 1250. you track that through your dashboard by logging your food that is weighed and measured. hope this answers it..

The easiest thing to add is fat.  I'll use butter to scramble my eggs, add a little more cheese to a salad, a handful of nuts.  On the nuts, consider unsalted ones to keep the sodium in check.  I'd decide on increasing your intake based on how you're doing now.  If you're losing well with your current defecit then increase intake to match your increased output.

If you’re already eating "clean": quality protein, good fats, lots of veggies and fruit, getting enough fibre and micronutrients, there’s nothing wrong in adding "junk" to your diet if all you need is some extra food to reach maintenance (or be at the required surplus). It’s what Michael Phelps is doing: given that he needs some 8000-9000 calories per day, there’s no way he could get all that from "clean" food alone. Does he look fat to you? Well no, because all the junk gets used as fuel for his activity.
