So I thought I'd share a simple start to the day that has served me well in the past and now that I've started loosing weight again it's still great.
1/4 or 1/3 cup oatmeal (uncooked/dry)
2 egg whites
Combine the two in a bowl, heat a pan to med and spray with pam or other non-stick spray. Cook for about 90 seconds on each side.
While simple and bland this really helps me to re-set my start of the day. The oats serve as long-lasting energy and the egg whites are protein needed after the morning in the gym. If you want to add flavor try putting in peanut butter (2 tbsp) or cinnamon & sugar.
Best AnswerSavory porridge is a thing right now -- I have seen articles about it the New York Times food section, and the Wall Street Journal:

Porridge can be made with oats, rice, or other grains like bulgur and cornmeal. Haven't tried it yet but I have some congee plans.
Best AnswerI make mine with old fashioned oats, egg whites, unsweetened cocoa powder, ground flaxseed, peppermint extract and a little bit of mashed banana and real maple syrup to make mint chocolate oatmeal.
I can't do bland. My food is always flavourful and unique.
1/2 cup old fashioned oats 1 and 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup mixed nuts 1 tbsp ground flax seed 1/4 cup dry cranberries 1/4 cup sunflower seeds Cook oatmeal and water in microwave approx. 2min 10 sec Mix porridge with nuts, seeds and cranberries. Feeds two
Best AnswerI like to add egg whites to my old fashioned oats. I cook the oats as recommended on the package, and when they are almost done, I add in the egg whites. I like to top that with fruit.
