It seems every time I google Low Calorie recipes a vast majority of them are spicy.
I don't do spicy food. I rarely use Black Pepper in food prep.
I am also a picky eater. Pasta, Cheese, Cream of Mushroom soup have been huge meal ingredients for me for years.
Now, I'm smart enough to know that at 39 years old I'm not going to totally change my habits and do a 180. I am not a huge veggie fan. I don't mind raw of many veggies, but still not a fan.
I've done great being creative the past few nights.
Chicken breast with diced tomatoes, zucchini and basil (served with a pasta side - but I stuck to portion size)
last night was Salmon (cooked in skillet, no added fat) served with Oven Roasted Potatoes with Garlic and Rosemary (used some olive oil) (I had a little thing of No Sugar added Applesauce with my dinner).
The problem is I need a lot more ideas like those.
Any go to sites? As I said, I've browsed a few and most recipes seem to make up for lower calories by adding spicy flavors.

I love using the Spark People website for recipes. Just be cautious of the nutrient information because some are not 100% on their calculations.

I get pretty much all of my recipe ideas from pinterest. I feel like you can find literally anything on there. BUT if you're counting calories, you'll probably have to calculate them all out by hand for the recipe, so keep that in mind I guess.

@betpchem @too_spicy @awood08 Good call! I've actually never used Pinterest before, but I'm going to check it out now.
@Kerivkennedy For texture, avocado and sweet potatoes are my go to. Sweet potatoes have changed my diet almost completely, after making the switch to a paleo diet. Low in carbs, high in protein, and I've never felt more full! Here's a little more information.

Brined chicken.
Brine. Your. Chicken.
Making a skillet meal with chicken? Brine it.
Chicken casserole? Brine it.
Chicken tenders? Skip the brine. Just kidding. Brine it!
I always neglected to brine poultry and my recipes were good, but not "holy cow this chicken is amazing!"
Point being, a $0.02 brine will keep your calories low, your chicken super-flavorful and not dry, and you just turned into the cooking genius of the neighboorhood.
